We are pleased to announce that Bloomingtails will be back at The Pet Show November 2023, come along!

Did you know deshedding your dog regularly helps with:

Thermoregulation

Avoid hidden hot spots

Minimises the amount of hair that is seen around your home/car…

Helps with avoiding knots & matted coats

WHY DO DOGs SHED?

It is true some dog breeds tend to shed more than others. Did you know that the dogs who’s coat grows the slowest also shed the least? No matter if your dog sheds a lot or very little, shedding occurs because once the dogs hair reaches maturity in its lifecycle, then it falls out

and allows the new hair to grow.

Usually shedding really picks up when the weather becomes warmer and the undercoat falls out. This is when you see your house/car/cloth covered in hair.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU DESHED YOUR DOG?

As proud leading Groomers in Sydney, we learnt that weekly deshedding brushing is the best way to keep your dog’s coat healthy. Using the Refuresh and/or Andis deshad brushes with a downward motion gets rid of all those loose & unwanted hairs, leaving your dog’s coat healthy & thermal regulated.

We also recommend to book your dog once a month for Groomers to wash, blow dry & deshed your dog. Bloomingtails uses the best and latest technology, products and tools in order for your dog to feel & look the best.

WHAT DESHEDING TOOL IS THE BEST FOR ANY KIND OF DOG COATS?

We highly recommend our favourite deshedding tools from Refuresh & Andis. The Refuresh Deshedding tool comes in two varieties SMALL/MEDIUM hair & LONG hair rather then one tool fits all coats. The best part is its magic ejector that can release the hair that has been captured by the brush itself.

The Andis Deshedding Tool used by professionals, stainless-steel teeth help tame mats. The no-slip grip sits comfortably in your hand. This high-quality Andis tool not only keeps fur fresh, it reduces shedding by up to 90%.

WHY CAN WE GET ALLERGIES FROM A DOG THAT ALWAYS SHEDS ?

We are here to debug the myth that animal hair is the cause of allergies. It is not the hair but the actual dead skin cells that shed with it. The dog hair itself is not a significant allergen, but the dander (dead skin cells that are continually shed).

Dander collects airborne allergens such as pollen, dust, and mold spores.

Removing the shedding hair will stop this process, and dramatically reduce these allergens and the dander on your dog.

TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR DOGS SHEDDING

Multiple Grooming Experts & Vets agree that “routine grooming is absolutely essential for all dogs.” Brushing and combing your dog helps mature old hair from forming mats & knots that can eventually harm the skin & the dog itself.

Schedule an appointment with our expert groomers to:

  • Regularly keeps their coat and skin healthy
  • Prevents skin irritations and complications
  • Minimise hot spots forming
  • Control thermoregulation
